Balaba Abasi is a Senior Associate at NS-KIGOZI Advocates and an enrolled Advocate of the High Court of Uganda with a focused practice in taxation, regulatory compliance, and commercial litigation. He combines strong technical legal training with practical experience advising corporate clients and individuals on complex tax and commercial matters.

Abasi holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Makerere University and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre. He is currently pursuing certification as a Tax Advisor with the Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Uganda (ICPAU) to further deepen his technical expertise in taxation.

His practice centres on tax planning, regulatory compliance, and the management of tax exposure and liability arising from commercial operations, transactions, and disputes. He has hands-on experience representing clients before Uganda Revenue Authority, the Tax Appeals Tribunal, and the superior Courts in matters involving tax assessments, reconciliations, objections, and negotiated payment arrangements.

Abasi’s advisory and litigation work is geared towards delivering tax solutions that are legally sound, commercially practical, and aligned with the firm’s tiered dispute resolution approach.
